# Scoring & Stats Update — Transition to End-of-Round Scoring

## Overview

As part of bringing a new development team on board, we're making changes to how scoring and stats work across the platform. These changes lay the groundwork for long-requested features and ensure every result reflects final, official data.

### What's Changing

From the next round onwards:

* **Player scores** will update at the end of each round across all sports
* **Leaderboards** will lock in once the round wraps, using final official data
* **Live scoring and live match centre updates** will be paused during this transition
* **Final results** will drop at the end of each round on a **Monday**

Live scoring will return after a short testing period. We'll share a timeline as soon as the development team is confident in the new setup.

> **This change does not impact any competitions.**

### Why We're Doing It

Separating the live match centre and data stats from leaderboard and competition scoring means:

* Every result reflects **final, official stats**
* No more mid-round corrections affecting your leaderboard position
* A cleaner, more accurate experience for all coaches
* A significantly reduced ongoing development overhead going forward

What It Unlocks

These changes lay the groundwork for the most-requested feature in the GDS community:

#### 🟢 Player Availability Indicators

Player availability indicators are coming to the platform. We'll confirm a release timeline once the new scoring system is fully bedded in.<br>

### Frequently Asked Questions

**Will my competition results be affected?** No. This change does not impact any competitions.

**When will live scoring return?** Live scoring will be back after a few of weeks of testing. We'll communicate a confirmed timeline as soon as it's available.

**When will scores be available each round?** Final scores will be published at the end of each round, on a Monday Afternoon.

**Why do Rugby League stats sometimes take so long to finalise?** The NRL releases its official stats after each round, but the finalisation process can take hours or occasionally a full day. GDS will now run scoring after this process completes, ensuring your leaderboard always reflects accurate, official data.
