# Legend Player Cards

GameDay Squad is introducing (Starting with Football) a seasonal system for Legend Cards, where a new version of each Legend Card will be released every season. While coaches will retain all previously earned Legend Cards, only the current season’s card will score at the maximum 1.5x multiplier. Older Legend Cards will still be playable but will receive a slightly reduced 1.45x multiplier. This change encourages ongoing engagement each season while preserving the long-term value and collectibility of past Legend Cards. **These changes are only being introduced for new games moving forward - there is currently NO CHANGES ANTICIPATED FOR EXISTING SPORTS - if any changes are to be introduced, they will be communicated in the coming months.**

#### **What’s Changing?**

We are moving to a seasonal Legend Card system.

Previously:

* Legend Cards were permanent and always scored at a 1.5x multiplier.
* You could only own one Legend Card per player, forever.

Now:

* Legend Cards will be seasonal, with new editions each calendar year.
* Current season Legend Cards will score at 1.5x.
* Past season Legend Cards will drop to 1.45x.

#### **Example**

* You pack Legend Erling Haaland in 2025 → it scores at 1.5x during 2025.
* When the sesason changes to 2026, your 2025 card now scores at 1.45x, and a new 2026 Legend Erling Haaland card (scoring at 1.5x) becomes available.

#### Why This Matters

* **Strategic value**: Coaches are encouraged to stay current and collect the latest season’s Legend Cards to gain maximum scoring advantage.
* **Collectibility**: You can now own multiple versions of a Legend for different years (e.g., 2025 and 2026 Nathan Cleary), but only one per edition.
