# Scoring

The aim of fantasy sports is always to try and build a squad of players whose combined scores earn more fantasy points than everyone else's squad. With GameDay Squad that objective still remains the same, however unlike other platforms we have 2 factors that influence how your 18 scoring players will earn you points during a round.

* In game Statistics (Standard Fantasy Sports)
* Card Multiplier (Unique to GameDay Squad)

### In game Statistics (Standard Fantasy Sports)

Coaches will score GameDay Squad fantasy points each round based upon the real life performance of the 18 players selected on their field. A player's score (PS) will be awarded or deducted based on the performance statistics of each player selected to the following criteria:

**Passing**

| Stat Category | Point Value |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| Passing Yards | 1 point for every 25 yards |
| Passing TDs | 6 points |
| Passing Interceptions | -2 points |
| Passing 2 Point Conversions | 2 points |

**Rushing**

| Stat Category | Point Value |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| Rushing Yards | 1 point for every 10 yards |
| Rushing TDs | 6 points |
| Rushing 2 Point Conversions | 2 points |

**Receiving**

| Stat Category | Point Value |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| Receptions | 1 point |
| Receiving Yards | 1 point for every 10 yards |
| Receiving TDs | 6 points |
| Receiving 2 Point Conversions | 2 points |

**Kicking**

| Stat Category | Point Value |
| -------------------------- | ----------- |
| Kicking PATs | 1 point |
| Kicking FGs, 0 to 49 yards | 3 points |
| Kicking FGs, 50+ yards | 5 points |

**Miscellaneous Offence**

| Stat Category | Point Value |
| ---------------------------- | ----------- |
| Offensive Fumble Recovery TD | 6 points |
| Fumbles Lost | -2 points |

Every stat scores the same for any player who records it. A running back who throws a touchdown pass earns the passing touchdown points, and a wide receiver who runs the ball earns rushing points.

There is no defensive or special teams scoring in GameDay Squad Gridiron. Your score comes entirely from offensive production and kicking.

Partial yardage counts. A quarterback who throws for 287 yards earns 11.48 points, not 11, and that figure is then multiplied by your card's rarity multiplier to give the final score.

### Card Multiplier (Unique to GameDay Squad)

After calculating a player's score (PS) from their in game performance, their PS is multiplied by the multiplier of the rarity of card that you have played for that given player. The score after being multiplied by the card rarity is known in game as the Player's Score Multiplied (PSM) and this is the final score used to calculate your round and seasonal score.

Example:

Let's say Patrick Mahomes throws for 300 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. That is 12 points for the yards, 18 for the touchdowns and minus 2 for the interception, giving him a player score of 28. The player card tier you played of him in a given competition will determine the score he contributes to your overall round score.

If you played a bronze card (1.0x multiplier), you would earn 28 points, a silver card (1.1x multiplier) would earn 30.8, a gold card (1.2x multiplier) would earn you 33.6 points and so on, up to 42 from a Legend.

This is why selecting the highest scoring players remains important, but it is also important to determine which card rarity to play for each player to try and maximise your round score, and is a unique element of our gameplay.

### Determining your Round Score

At the end of each round, the Players Score Multiplied (PSM) are added up for your 17 highest scoring players to determine your round score.
