# Whats new in 2026

The GameDay Squad team has been hard at work ahead of the new season to make 2026 the best year yet! Some of the key changes for 2026 include:

**More Rounds:**

With the IPL set for its biggest season ever, GDS is going even bigger with more rounds and a simplified format that makes it easier than ever for coaches to compete every day.

**Competition Changes:**

Several competition updates are in effect for 2026. The Classic Competition now has an increased salary cap of $7.5 million and updated card eligibility rules. The Challenger and Champion Competitions have also received updated card eligibility rules.

**Changes to Prize Cards**

From this season onwards, Prize Cards won as seasonal prizes will become untradable. Coaches will not be able to sell, auction or trade these earned Prize Cards. This change will not affect any Prize Cards already earned by coaches in previous seasons.

**Updated Stats Provider:**

For 2026, GameDay Squad IND Cricket has transitioned to a new stats provider. This should ensure better position mapping across the player pool and allow the platform to keep the prize pool competitive moving forward.

**Improved Player Pool Management:**

In 2026, inactive players will be removed from the player pool faster than ever, while returning players will be reinstated to the active pool as soon as they are available.

**2025 All-Star Cards:**

All Stars are back in 2026! Keep an eye out for when last years star players will be added into packs for the upcoming season!
