Special Competition

Our Special Competitions play a major role in showing how GameDay Squad continues to do what no other platform can. We are changing the game and redefining how coaches experience fantasy sports.

Special Competitions give coaches the chance to compete using player cards that might not normally feature in standard competitions, introducing fresh formats and new ways to play. These weekly focused competitions ensure that GameDay Squad remains a platform you can join at any time of the season without missing out on the action or the fun.

Primetime

• Salary Cap: No Salary Cap

• Rarities Allowed: All rarities allowed except bronze

• Special Card Limit: No Limit

• Special Rules: Only includes games played on Thursday and Fridays

• Restrictions: None

The Primetime Competition is the only competition on the platform where you can unleash any card in your collection without any salary cap, special card, or rarity restrictions. The only exception is that bronze cards are not eligible.

What makes this competition even more unique is that it features only Thursday and Friday night games, creating an exciting, fast paced format where coaches can battle for a huge first place prize before the weekend even begins.

There are great rewards and incentives for all coaches to compete, so everyone has a chance to win. And who knows, if you nail a few key point of difference players, that grand prize could be yours.

Under 24's

• Salary Cap: 12.5mil

• Rarities Allowed: Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Special Cards

• Special Card Limit: 3

• Special Rules: Can only play players born in or after 2002 + All on field Hooker, Mid-forward and Edge forward positions become Forward positions and Centres, Wingers and Fullback positions become Back positions

• Restrictions: None

The Under 24s Competition is unlike anything else in the fantasy sports world. Coaches build and compete each week with a squad made up of emerging young talent, reflecting GameDay Squad’s identity as a true dynasty-style fantasy platform. Success in this competition comes from spotting, developing, and acquiring the next generation of stars to help your squad grow into a future premiership winners.

Fantasy Bro's Sunday Showdown

• Salary Cap: 12mil

• Rarities Allowed: Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Special Cards

• Special Card Limit: 1 (0 Prize Card limit)

• Special Rules: Only includes games played on Sundays and Mondays + 1 Diamond Card Limit.

• Restrictions: None

GameDay Squad has partnered with The Fantasy Bros to create a fantasy experience unlike any other on the platform. The Fantasy Bros Sunday Showdown breaks away from standard and special competitions by focusing not on weekly winners, but on a season long challenge that builds toward one ultimate showdown where a single coach will take home a $5,000 prize.

Special Comp Announcement for 2027

GameDay Squad is actively working on a long-term update to the Legend card system expected for the 2027 season to ensure the platform remains sustainable well into the future. While full details will be announced soon, GameDay Squad will offer an opt-in and opt-out option available for coaches who own Legends cards.

It is important to understand that for all new Special Competitions, any coach or player card that is not opted-in to the upcoming legends card changes will likely become ineligible to compete in these special competitions once the changes are introduced.
