Fantasy Bro's Sunday Showdown

GameDay Squad has teamed up with the Fantasy Bro’s to deliver an exciting new style of special competition for the 2026 season.

Played within and managed by GameDay Squad, the Sunday Showdown will introduce a unique fantasy sports experience not found anywhere else in the world.

Coaches will compete throughout the season to earn qualification into the Playoffs, before battling it out in a knockout bracket with the goal of reaching a winner-takes-all $5,000 Grand Final.

How it works

The Regular Season

Coaches will compete over the first 22 rounds of the season to earn entry into the Playoffs.

There are two ways to qualify for the Playoffs:

  1. Win one of the first 22 rounds of the season.

  2. Earn a wildcard spot by having one of the two highest total season scores among coaches who haven’t won a round.

In the event that a coach wins multiple rounds, the number of wildcard spots will increase to ensure there are always 24 entrants for the Playoffs.

The Playoffs

After the 22 rounds, there will be 24 coaches who have earned qualification into the Playoffs. They will be seeded 1–24 based on:

  • The number of round wins they achieved, and

  • Their overall season rank (used as a tiebreaker)

For example, seeding could look like this:

  • Seed 1: 3 round wins, 8th overall

  • Seed 2: 2 round wins, 44th overall

  • Seed 3: 1 round win, 2nd overall

  • Seed 4: 1 round win, 120th overall

  • … Seed 24: 0 round wins, 3rd overall

The 24 seeds will then progress into the knockout Playoff bracket, while all other coaches will be entered into the Consolation Cup.

Wildcard Round

  • Seeds 1–8 will receive a bye

  • Seeds 9–24 will compete in single-elimination matchups (9 vs 24, 10 vs 23, and so on)

Round of 16, Quarter Finals, and Semi Finals

  • After each round, matchups will be re-seeded based on each coach’s original seed position (for example, the highest remaining seed will always play the lowest remaining seed).

  • Single-elimination matchups will continue until only two coaches remain

The Grand Final

The final two squads will compete head-to-head, with the winner taking home the $5,000 cash prize. The runner-up will receive $500.

The Consolation Cup

Coaches who do not qualify for the Playoffs will be eligible for the Consolation Cup.

Details are as follows:

  • The coach with the highest combined weekly score from Rounds 23–27 will win and claim the $250 cash prize

  • Coaches who qualify for the Playoffs are not eligible to compete in the Consolation Cup
