What to expect for the first kick off of the 2025 Rugby League Season!

The team has been hard at work creating more additions and improvements ahead of the new season to make this one the best season yet!

Updated Player Pool:

In December we will launch the updated 2025 player pool update that will include team changes, position changes, player additions, draftees and the latest removals. Check out our 2025 player position reveal found here: Match Centre Addition:

In preparation for the 2025 Rugby League season, coaches will notice the addition of the GameDay Squad Match Centre. The Matches page on GameDay Squad provides users with an in-depth view of ongoing, upcoming, and completed matchups in which ever sport the coach is competing in. It’s a hub of information for coaches to track the progress and evaluate player performance, plus - make real-time decisions. Stats Centre:

GameDay Squad’s Stats Centre page is a key resource for coaches who want to delve deeper into player statistics. It helps users make informed decisions on squad changes and transfer market moves by providing comprehensive stats across various positions and sports. Special Card Restrictions (Classic only):

Coaches will only be allowed a MAXIMUM of ONE special card if they wish to play in the classic competition. The restriction is not position-bound meaning users can use up to one special card in any position they like,

Test your skills and expertise across Multiple Competitions simultaneously! GameDay Squad are excited to announce that our coaches will be able to Create, Coach and Compete in ALL available competitions! In simple terms this means that coaches will be able to submit teams for both the Classic and Champion competition if they wish! Finals Footy is back!: Finals footy will be making return in 2025! GameDay Squad excitement all the way until the end of the season! Finals footy will be back! Starter Pack Cards: In 2025 we will be changing and increasing the starter pack allocation for new users from 51 cards to 153 cards. We anticipate that increasing the starter player card pack allotment upon sign up will make it fairer and easier for new users to onboard. Below is the positional breakdown for how the cards will be distributed:

HOK: 18 (2x9) MID: 27 (3x9) EDG: 18 (2x9) HLF: 27 (3x9) CTR: 18 (2x9) WNG: 27 (3x9) FLB: 18 (2x9)

Introducing the Contender Competition – New for Season 2025!

Designed specifically for new coaches, the Contender Competition lets you compete for prizes at your own pace, without the pressure of facing seasoned veterans. Coaches already participating in the Challenger or Champion Competitions are not eligible to enter, creating a level playing field for newcomers to learn, earn, and grow.

But don’t be fooled—there’s still plenty of strategy involved. With a strict $10 million salary cap, how will you build your squad? Will you splash out on a Gold player, or spread your budget across a squad of Bronze and Silver talent? The choice is yours, and the possibilities are endless.
