Introduction to Untradable Special Cards
In 2026 we are introducing a brand new type of player card into our Aussie Rules and Rugby League games known as Untradable Cards.
While Special Cards already exist within GameDay Squad, Untradable Cards introduce a number of completely new attributes that have never previously been part of the GDS ecosystem. These cards are designed to reward engagement, skill and long term squad building while maintaining competitive balance across the platform.

What Are Untradable Cards
Untradable Cards are a new type of Special Card which are:
100% untradable meaning these cards can never be bought sold or traded
Only obtainable through promotional giveaways or Squad Building Challenges
Seasonal relevance with multipliers that reduce once the season concludes
A single shared card type called Untradable while still allowing different card designs and themes tied to specific achievements
Card designs may differ depending on the achievement such as Player of the Month Preseason Stat Cards or other future promotions but all cards share the same core attributes
If you do not earn an Untradable Card during the window it is available there is no way to add it to your squad in the future.
In Game Attributes
All Untradable Cards will have the following attributes unless otherwise stated for a specific promotion:
Count as a Special Card in all relevant competitions
Multiplier of 1.2x during the current season
Multiplier reduces to 1.1x from the following season onward
Fixed Salary Cap value of 500k
Limited to x out of 1000 per card type although not all 1000 cards will always be released
Ownership rules:
A player can only have one Untradable Card per season
If a player earns an Untradable Card through one achievement they become ineligible for other Untradable Cards in the same season. For example a player who receives an offseason award card will not be eligible for Player of the Month Untradable Cards during that season
Why We Are Introducing Untradable Cards
The introduction of Untradable Cards allows us to expand the platform in several important ways:
Create exciting new upgrade paths through existing card collections and Squad Building Challenges
Provide free to play coaches with consistent access to Special Cards without the need to purchase packs
Introduce truly collectible cards that celebrate standout player performances achievements and moments
Allow us to rewards ownership of these cards in fun and strategic ways
When Does This Begin
The first Untradable Cards for the 2026 season will launch as part of our preseason promotion known as StatsCards. From there we will have a February Members Only Squad Building Challenge featuring some preseason player cards Before April's introduction of Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month SBCs. Additional Untradable Card opportunities will be introduced throughout the season.
While cards may be earned prior to April we do not expect Untradable Cards to appear in game until after the start of April. Once live these cards will be distributed as a monthly drop to coaches who earned them during the previous month.
More detailed information on each promotion will be shared in the coming months.
Untradable Cards Seasons
Untradable Card seasons will run from October 1st through September 30th.
Seasonal rules:
At the start of October all existing Untradable Cards will have their multiplier reduced from 1.2x to 1.1x
If Aussie Rules or Rugby League seasons extend into October the multiplier reduction will occur once those competitions have officially concluded
All newly earned Untradable Cards after the reset will belong to the new season
Future Changes and Platform Flexibility
As GameDay Squad continues to evolve future competition formats features and balancing changes may require adjustments to Untradable Cards.
GDS reserves the right to modify attributes including multipliers salary cap values availability or acquisition methods to:
Maintain competitive balance across all competitions
Ensure Untradable Cards remain desirable and meaningful to collect
Support new game modes promotions and platform improvements
Any changes will always be communicated clearly through official support documents and announcements.
