Announcements

13th November 2025

Hey Coaches,

We’re reaching out to let you know about an important platform-wide change coming early next week that will affect all sports on GameDay Squad. We had originally hoped to roll this update out separately for each sport, but because it requires a full platform update, there’s no perfect time to do so without some in-season impact. With that in mind, we’ll be moving ahead early next week.

The Change (applies to all sports on the GDS Platform)

• Coaches competing in Contender competitions will now be eligible to compete in Challenger competitions.

• Coaches competing in Challenger competitions will no longer be eligible to compete in Starter competitions.

• Coaches competing in Champion competitions will no longer be eligible to compete in Starter competitions, and will remain ineligible for Contender competitions.

These updates come after our team’s review of their introduction during the Footy season, combined with community feedback and our upcoming plans to expand how coaches compete on the platform. We understand it’s not ideal to make this change mid-season.

We’ve already reached out to the leaders of our Starter competitions to make sure their hard work this season is recognised and rewarded appropriately. On the bright side, this change means coaches currently playing Basketball and Football in Contender will have new competition opportunities for the rest of this season and beyond.

What Happens Next

• Early next week: The update will go live on the platform. All Starter squads will be reset, and coaches will receive an error message if they attempt to enter restricted competitions.

• Next round onward: Coaches can choose how they’d like to compete moving forward. Leaderboards will not be reset.

• Formal communication: Emails and in-app notifications will be sent to all coaches affected.

We’re confident this update lays the foundation for a number of exciting developments already in the pipeline and we can’t wait to share more soon.

Thanks as always for your support and passion for the game!

Hi Coaches, we need to share an important update regarding our new emergency feature. Unfortunately, we have uncovered an issue that means the feature will not work as intended for at least Round 1. Our aim is to have this fixed for Round 2, although we cannot confirm the exact timeline just yet.

While this is not ideal, we have discovered something from this process that will improve the feature long term. Of course, we would have preferred to identify this without the issue, but we are confident the end result will be even better.

How emergencies will work for Round 1 • Emergencies will only activate for players who record zero minutes and are part of the official match day squad (for example, named as a substitute but do not play) • Emergencies will not activate for players who are not listed on the official team sheet • Inactive players will score zero • Players who have changed clubs but have not been updated in-game will score zero whether they play or not

Example for Round 1 If Saka strains his calf before kick-off and is ruled out, he would be removed from the official team sheet and an emergency forward would not cover his score. However, if he is named on the bench but does not take the field, the emergency forward will replace his score. This is not how we intended the system to work, but it will apply for at least the first week.

How emergencies are intended to work moving forward • Emergencies will activate for all players who record zero minutes, regardless of whether they are listed on the official team sheet • Inactive players or players who have changed clubs but are not yet updated in-game will always score zero if played on the field or bench, regardless of whether they take part in the match • New finding: Emergencies will trigger for inactive players or players who have changed clubs if they are placed on the field. • New finding: If played as an emergency, Inactive players (in-game) or players who have changed clubs but have not been updated in-game to reflect the change will act as intended emergency player and have their score counted if a starting/bench player does not play. Playing them in the emergency position will be the ONLY way to get their score included in your rounds score.

We know this is not ideal, but every coach will be in the same position for Round 1. Our focus is on the improvements we can deliver from this learning to make the feature even better than originally planned.

We will also share this information across socials and in-game within the next 24 hours. No changes will be made to leaderboards or prizes for Round 1 based on the impacts of this issue.

We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.

30th July 2025

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share a few quick updates on some changes happening over the next little while.

Card Exchanges and SBCs Back in December, we introduced card exchanges and SBCs to give more utility to the more “average” cards in your collection. The intention of adding this into the platform as a feature hasn’t changed, but with other priorities like new sports and platform features taking the lead, this has never made it to the top of the dev list.

We had paused things recently due to a packed schedule (including the surprise football launch and Women’s Aussie Rules preseason), and with current capacity, we won’t be able to offer exchanges in the same way we used to—at least not until this feature is fully built into the platform (no timeline just yet).

Here’s how things will work going forward:

SBCs Will become a Member-only feature moving forward (avaliable to all levels) • Will have limits on how many entries a coach can submit • Will only be available for active sports • Will be focused on offering high-value prizes that will be won with a draw.

Card Exchanges • Also becoming a member- only feature whilst the team works on making it a free and accessible to everyone from the platform. The level of membership will determine the number of exchanges a month. More details to come. • We’ll look to open up limited exchanges briefly before the Women’s Aussie Rules and Basketball seasons to non memnbers, this isn’t guaranteed, but we’ll try • We’re always exploring ways to open this up more, but please understand it’s currently a time-consuming process when done manually, and we’ve got plenty cooking behind the scenes they are taking priority Auctions As many of you know, auctions have had a few bugs that have made them frustrating, especially when it comes to last-minute bids. We’re aiming to have a fix live as early as next week. Along with it, we’ll be rolling out a feature to stop “sniping.” From now on, if someone bids in the last two minutes, the timer will reset to give everyone a fair shot. More details and support info will drop when it goes live.

Upcoming Promotions With Football and Women’s Aussie Rules preseason well underway, we’ve got a few fun things lined up: • The refer-a-friend campaign is live. Check earlier in this chat for full details and how to get involved. • GameDay Society is running Bingo and Pack Opening Nights to celebrate the new seasons. Stay tuned for when they will be happening • Everyone’s favourite wheel will be spinning again by the end of this week. Theres some goodies up for grabs so stay tuned! • A surprise pack drop is on the way… and it might not be one you expect

And lastly, just a quick personal note, thinking back to where we were 12 months ago, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the continued support of this community and how welcoming you all are to new coaches who join. We’re constantly told how supportive and kind our community is, and we love hearing it and are super proud of it. But the truth is, it’s only that way because of how awesome you all are. So, as always, thank you. We’ll keep working hard to build something special with new sports and features just around the corner. Much love! ❤️

Hey Coaches, As we’ve mentioned recently, we’re making some changes to the overall competition structure on GDS. These changes are designed to create a smoother entry point for coaches to succeed early in their GDS journey without the need to acquire top-level cards. Part 1 of this rollout was the introduction of the new Contender competition, which kicks off in just a couple of weeks. If you missed it, check our previous announcements for full details. Introducing Part 2 – Changes to the Competition Rules Today we’re sharing Part 2, which will roll out with the upcoming Women’s Aussie Rules and Basketball seasons. If successful, this structure will become the model for future competitions across all sports. What’s changing: · Each competition will now allow specific card rarities only (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.). · Salary caps will be updated to reflect these changes. · We’re introducing sub-limits for Prize cards within the existing Special card limits. Examples of how this change looks in the Women’s Aussie Rules competition: Card Rarities Allowed • Starter: Bronze • Contender: Bronze, Silver and Gold • Classic: Silver, Gold, Platinum + Special Cards • Challenger: Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Legends + Special Cards • Champion: Platinum, Diamond, Legends + Special Cards Special Card Limit • Starter: still 0 • Contender: still 0 • Classic: increasing from 1 to 2 special cards (1 Prize, 1 All-Star) • Challenger: still 6, now capped at 2 Prize and 4 All-Star • Champion: remains unlimited The full breakdown of changes for all competitions, including the intended changes for future sports can be found in the below support link. A few important notes: · These changes will only apply to the upcoming Women’s Aussie Rules and Basketball seasons for now. · They won’t affect the 2025 Men’s Aussie Rules or Rugby League seasons. · While the exact start date is still being finalised, this announcement is to give coaches time to prepare of the direction GDS is heading. There is a chance we will be unable to get the sub limit introduced in time for the 2025 wAR and BBall seasons, this will be communicated as soon as it’s known. In the event this occurs, the stated special card limit just without the sub limit for prize cards. Why we’re doing this: · To make Classic more affordable and competitive for more coaches. · Classic and Challenger competitions no longer have to worry about finding Bronze cards that are scarce or unavailable. · To make sure Challenger coaches don’t feel like they need multiple Prize cards just to compete. · To give more value to Silver, Gold, and Platinum cards by making them matter more in different comps. · To build a more structured progression system where each competition level reflects its corresponding prize pool and competitiveness These will be the last structural changes to competitions for a little while, but we’ll continue making improvements focused on onboarding and fairness. We’re committed to keeping fantasy skill as the core of success on GDS. Thanks for being part of the community—excited to see what these changes unlock. 8th April 2024 Important Platform Updates and Exciting Announcements We’ve got some important updates and exciting announcements to share with you! Some of these changes are designed to improve fairness and ensure that all coaches can compete on a level playing field while staying compliant with our platform’s Terms and Conditions. Trading Amendments: Changes to Legend and Prize Card Trading There will be important changes to how Legend and Prize Cards can be traded: Coaches will no longer be able to trade Legend and Prize Cards in the same way as other card types. We’ve seen some coaches attempting to manipulate rolling lockouts using these cards to gain an unfair advantage—this violates our platform’s Terms and Conditions and will not be tolerated. Off-platform trading has always been prohibited under our Terms and Conditions. The majority of trades involving Legend and Prize Cards over the last year have violated these terms, exposing coaches to potential fraud and unfair market practices. Moving forward: Trades for Legend and Prize Cards will need to go through a manual email process where the GDS team will verify that the trade complies with our Terms and Conditions. This change ensures that all coaches are competing under the same rules and that trading remains fair and transparent. Full details will be shared soon. If you’ve loaned or gifted Legend or Prize Cards to friends or family, we recommend trading them back into your account while you still can. Once these changes go live, you won’t be able to trade them without an approved process. Auctions Update With the upcoming update, users will no longer be able to accept offers on listed and active auctions. This change is being implemented alongside the recent Legend and Prize Card trading amendments to help maintain fairness and ensure that users cannot bypass platform Terms and Conditions through auctions.

Pack Price Changes We’re rolling out updated pack pricing across all sports on the platform to ensure consistency and balance. You can view the new pack prices directly in the platform stores or by visiting: Pack Types Thanks for continuing to be part of our amazing community—we’re excited for these new updates and can’t wait to see how they shape the competition. Stay tuned for more!
