How to enter

The QLD vs NSW competition is free to enter for everyone! Coaches can submit a squad in the "Competitions" tab on the GameDay Squad Rugby League competition page using their existing GDS Rugby League player cards.

Coaches will have to enter a FULL squad to be eligible for the QLD vs NSW competitions. If coaches do not have the available squad depth to submit a squad full of QLD vs NSW players, players who aren't playing QLD vs NSW CAN be selected. It is important to note that ONLY QLD vs NSW selected players will have their score count towards the user's QLD vs NSW squad score.

Scoring

Squad Management and Rules

Coaches participating in the QLD vs NSW competition will have a $11 million salary cap to work with.

In regards to any special card limits, QLD vs NSW cards (All years) have no limit and importantly, no Prize cards, All Star Cards, Diamonds or Legends will be eligible for selection. This means that ONLY QLD vs NSW special cards can be used.

The competition Lockout will occur 1 minute before the offical start of the game/s.

Leaderboard and Competitions

The QLD Vs NSW competition will contain 3 rounds of competitions for each of the 3 series games. The competition will reward prizes for round winners as well as the overall winners. The dates in which the QLD vs NSW competitions will be live are: Game 1 - Accor Stadium, Wednesday, May 27 Game 2 - MCG, Wednesday, June 17 Game 3 - Suncorp Stadium, Wednesday, July 8 QLD Vs NSW Special Player Cards

Details of player cards

10 cards per player listed in a 2026 QLD vs NSW Squad
Available to be used in the regular classic and Champion competitions with at 1.2x multiplier and a 600k salary cap hit (equivalent to a standard Gold card)
For the 2026 QLD vs NSW competitions, these cards will "upgrade" to a 1.4x multiplier but still with a 600K salary cap hit.
Cards will be able to be bought and sold as well as traded on the GameDay Squad Transfer Market.

Special Rules

The QLD vs NSW competition will feature some exciting exclusive rules not found in any other competition on the platform. The on field positions are being changed to allowed the game to remain flexible and ensure coaches can field squads more similar to those we see rolled out on the field.

These changes are:

The Hooker, Mid-forward and Edge forwards positions will allow all forwards (HOK, MID and EDG) to be selected on field.
The Winger, Centre and Full Back positions will allow all backs (WNG, CTR and FB) to be selected on field.

This means the make up of the full positions will be 8 forwards, 3 halves and 7 backs.
