GameDay Squads first head-to-head knockout system competition for both Rugby League and Aussie Rules! The GDS Cup is a head-to-head, survivor-style fantasy competition where coaches select a new squad each week. The losers of each round are eliminated, and the last remaining coach wins the cup! Each week, winners from the previous round will have their fixtures randomised.
Format: The 2025 GDS Cup follows traditional survivor fantasy rules.
Competition Type: All squads must adhere to STARTER COMPETITION squad rules.
Participants: A total of 512 coaches will compete. (Top 512 post round 2 for Aussie Rules and Round 3 for Rugby League)
Fixtures: Each round's matchups are randomised.
Number of weeks: The competition spans 9 weeks, starting March 27, 2025.
Sports: Both Rugby League and Aussie Rules GDS Cups will start on March 27, 2025.
How to Enter: As the coach, you don't need to do anything besides set your Starter Competition squads each round! From there the GDS Team will create the fixtures and provide updates after each round for who is progressing, and who has been knocked out.
As a coach, your only task is to set your Starter Competition squads each week! The GDS Team will handle the rest, creating the fixtures and providing updates after each week on who is advancing and who has been eliminated.
Coaches progress through the GDS Cup via head-to-head matchups in each week. The loser of each fixture is eliminated, while the winner advances to the next week. This continues until only one coach remains!
Example of match progression:
Week 1: ✅ 912 vs 830
Week 2: ✅ 899 vs 890
Week 3: ✅ 934 vs 910
Week 4: 900 vs 803 ❌ (Eliminated)
If you win your matchup, you move on. If you lose, you're out!
It is important to note: In the case of a draw, higher seasonal score will be the tiebreaker.
Each week you survive earns you rewards:
Week 1: 1x 1-player Common Pack
Week 2: 1x 3-player Common Pack
Week 3: 1x 9-player Common Pack
Week 4: 1x 9-player Rare Pack
Week 5: Mystery Prize
Week 6: 3x 9-player Rare Packs
Week 7: 1x 9-player Unique Pack
Week 8: 3x 9-player Unique Packs
Week 9 (Final): Prize Card
The winner of the GDS Cup will receive a prize card as the Week 9 (final) reward. The prize card selection number is 33. Coaches who have won seasonal prize cards are still eligible to win the GDS Cup prize card. It is important to note: In the case of a draw, higher seasonal score will be the tiebreaker.
